THE KURSK MAY GO DOWN AGAIN
Viktoriya Voloshina, Izvestia, February 26, 2001, p. 2
SUMMARY:
Igor Spassky, General Director of the Design Bureau Rubin, denies any knowledge of the decision to abort the operation. He is stone-cold confident he knows what happened in the Kursk. A training torpedo blew up and four other torpedoes detonated 2.15 minutes later. The hull and inner partitions turned out to be capable of absorbing the shock. What really counts, the reactor was not damaged. All rights reserved.
