MURMANSK GOVERNOR YURY YEVDOKIMOV WORRIED BY ECOLOGICAL CONSEQUENCES OF RAISING THE KURSK NUCLEAR SUBMARINE

Murmansk Governor Yury Yevdokimov has addressed deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov, Chair of the government commission for raising the Kursk nuclear submarine. The Governor is worried by the possible negative impact of the salvage operation on the ecological situation in the region. In particular he stated that: "This is a very risky operation, which is why we have to know how the organizers plan to prevent a possible emergency situations in the Kola Bay, around which the majority of the population of the Murmansk region lives."

With regard to this, the Murmansk Governor asked Ilya Klebanov to inform him about security measures during the operation.
