TWO STRAY CRUISE MISSILES SINK DURING PACIFIC FLEET MANEUVERS NEAR KAMCHATKA
Lenta.ru, September 26, 2001
One of the missiles went in the water near Nalychev, the other has not yet been located. Yury Sazonov, the prosecutor of the Petropavlovsk Garrison, told Interfax Wednesday that once the military has established the exact whereabouts of the missiles, the decision would be made whether to destroy or recover them. Sources in the military circles specify that the stray cruise missiles were of the Granit (similar to those the sunken Kursk carried) and Progress types. All rights reserved.
