On March 24, head of the Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering Rubin Igor Spassky told Izvestia that the government commission for ascertaining the reasons of the nuclear submarine Kursk's wreck has reliable facts explaining the origin of depressions on the hull of the sunken submarine. These very depressions pointed to the fact that the Kursk had been wrecked after collision with an underwater object, many experts think.

"In the investigation our design bureau has done jointly with the Krylov Central Research Institute, we have arrived at a conclusion that the unusual concave and cambered depressions appeared due to sharp pressure differential after the explosion," Spassky said.

Thus, the version of a collision which was considered among others becomes unfounded. According to the academic, the final official version of the nuclear submarine Kursk's sinking might be announced already in April-May, following an upcoming session of the government commission.
