VLADIMIR KUROEDOV HAS ARRIVED IN SEVEROMORSK TO CHECK THE NORTHERN FLEET
Regions.ru, April 12, 2002, 15:37

Admiral Vladimir Kuroedov, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, and a group of admirals and officers of the Main Staff of the Navy have arrived in Severomorsk to check the Northern Fleet. Admiral Kuroedov plans to check the main units of the fleet, the plight of warships, submarines, and the naval aviation during a week. Inspections will be conducted both in the sea and ground units. Admiral Kuroedov will focus on commanders' ability to control the fleet during combat tasks. Such a check has not been conducted in the fleet since August 2000 owing to the Kursk disaster and the operation aimed at raising the submarine.
